Pet Peeve of the Day

Okay, let me be honest. This is so much more than just pet peeve of the day. It's like pet peeve of the year. Pet Peeve of the lifetime even. Here you go, are you ready?

Kids going to jail, or to prison, because their lazy butt parents will not actually do their job, and be their parents. And so you have teenagers, or kids even younger, trying to parent themselves, and making decisions that should be made by adults. You can imagine how well that tends to work out for them.

And then you have the parents who, instead of getting their kids help with their issues, want to hide their head in the sand, or just can't be bothered, until the problem gets too big to be easily handled, and then they won't someone else to fix it.

And then there are those who expect that their kids will go to jail, because that's kind of a rite of passage.

And then, and perhaps the most frustrating really, are those parents who are more interested in trying to be their kid's friend rather than their parent, and don't want to give the kid any rules, or even any strucutre, because they don't want the kid to be "mad at them" because they "have to live with them." Umm, hello, you're the adult.
