There are just some things in life

that you never expect to see.

Like a wild turkey falling off the roof of your house.

I posted a picture a few weeks ago of a turkey that had shown up on our property from somewhere. It turns out that it belongs to the people who live back behind us, but apparently has adopted us, because even after they came to get it and take it back home, it keeps coming back. Mike has taken to giving it food and water, as pretty much any animal that moves onto our property, has refuge while here.

So anyway, apparently tonight the turkey decided to come visit the other side of the fence where our house, and the dogs, are. The dogs of course ran after the turkey. The turkey flew over Mike and Clayton's head while they were riding the lawnmower, and apparently flew on top of the house. From where it fell. Onto the deck by the pool, just outside the family room french doors. Aaron and I were both a little shocked. We heard a noise on top of the house, looked out the french doors, and saw a ball of feathers fly by. It was really kind of surreal.
Almost as strange as when the turkey jumped up on Mike's barbecue side table and proceeded to poop on it. But that's a whole other story...

Hahaha. That's really funny. The turkey is okay, I'm guessing?

Seems to be; though Mike's stomach is all scratched up from where he carried the turkey back across to the pond side of the fence.
