and those of us who knew him have heavy hearts for his family, but such joy for him because we know he is bowing at Jesus' feet this very evening. Larry has been battling pancreatic cancer for more than a year now and today he lost that battle. He went to be with God surrounded by the people most important to him in this life: his children, his wife Donna, and the other musicians from our church praise team. His daughter, Katie, became a Christian less than a year ago, primarily because of her father's illness. She realized that if her dad could get sick and die, that she, although only 16, could as well. This realization led her to ask Jesus to come into her heart. Just about a month ago, our church youth group had a discipleship weekend and in that time, Katie went off on her own to pray. When she came back, she told the other youth and the leaders that she had been praying for her dad whose health had begun to fail badly. She said that she had gotten the message from God that "you will be held." As the other girls cried and told her that her daddy was going to be okay, she responded with an unbelievable level of wisdom and grace that she didn't know that he was, but she knew that she was going to be okay.
