We got the kids' halloween costumes the other day at Walmart. Clayton is going to be Winnie the Pooh, which kind of surprised me, but okay. Aaron is going to be a doctor. So, in preparing for their roles, they've been wearing the costumes and "practicing". You see, "Winnie" has taken on the role of the patient, and "Dr. Vaughan" has been treating him for various ailments such as honey stuck in the throat, broken foot, etc... So the other day, apparently by virtue of being in the room at the time, I got to become "Mrs. Pooh" and become part of this little play. This was how it went.
Dr. Vaughan: Mrs. Pooh, why is it that Winnie keeps coming in to see me with all these different things wrong with him.
Mrs. Pooh: Well Dr. Vaughan, Winnie is what you call a hypochondriac. Do you know what that means?
Dr. Vaughan: It means he's sick all the time.
Mrs. Pooh (aka Mom at this point): Aaron, how did you know what that meant?
Dr. Vaughan: (in a tone that said, Mom, you are so silly sometimes): I'm a doctor!
Oh, okay.
So far poor Winnie has received numberous shots, and bandages, and been prescribed medications such as honeyfree, and cheesefree. Not to mention the lectures he's received. It will be interesting to see if poor Winnie develops a phobia of doctors by the time Halloween is over.
